I think it’s safe to say that pretty much everyone is a Disney fan. You have the casual fans, the obsessive fans and the in-between fans. Me? I’m definitely an obsessive fan. But, why is Disney SO amazing? Well, let’s see…
The soundtracks pretty much makes the films 10x better. I don’t just mean the musicals, but every Disney film has an amazing soundtrack. From Big Hero 6, to Lilo and Stitch and, yes, even Frozen. They all make you want to jump up and sing along, even if the scene or the song itself is depressing; you want to sing it anyway!
You even have the opportunity to fit a song in a conversation every now and then. If someone says thank you, you can just start singing “You’re Welcome” from new film Moana. If someone is complaining, you can just burst out singing “Let it Go” (it actually surprises me that no one has done that to me yet because I can be so dramatic sometimes).
Not only are Disney films enjoyable, but they also give strong messages and allow audiences to relate to the film. They teach adults, as well as children, important lessons. It’s hard to walk away from a Disney film without having learnt something. Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten.
Take The Hunchback of Notre Dame, for example. It teaches you that you shouldn’t judge people based on appearance. Quasimodo was bullied and feared because his appearance didn’t allow him to fit in, but he was the sweetest character (besides Esmerelda) in the film. He was taught that Esmerelda was evil because she was a gypsy, but she had a big heart.
Disneyland and Disneyworld
The happiest place on Earth!!
I know that not everyone are fortunate enough to have visited Disneyland or Disneyworld. But it really is the happiest place on Earth! You can meet the characters, have special Disney food, stay in a Disney hotel (if you’re extra lucky), buy merchandise, go on Disney rides. The iconic ‘It’s a Small World’ is quite possibly the cutest ride ever. It is pretty expensive; but, it’s worth it.
The parades are what dreams are made of. It’s quite an exciting experience, and even though you may feel silly, jumping up and down like you’re in the gym to get a character’s attention; you know no one is judging you, anyway. Everyone does it, so you may as well do a good job of it.
The history behind it
It’s hard to be a fan of Disney and not appreciate the hard work that was put in to it. I won’t talk about the history much, because, like I said, pretty much everyone knows it anyway.
You have to admire his determination, though. Walt Disney has literally influenced the world since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He had a dream and he literally did what he could to accomplish it. Imagine what the world would be like if he gave up?
It appeals to everyone
Having cartoons, animations, TV shows, live actions and short films; there is something out there for everyone, part of any age group. It has this special *something* that defies age and cynicism. There’s something for everyone, and I think that that’s what the true beauty about Disney is.
It never gets boring
There is always something new!
As soon as you think Disney won’t be able to think of something new, they knock you out of your seat and just shock you. It reminds you that nothing is ever impossible with Disney.
I have seen some people comment that Disney never takes any big risks, anymore, like they used to. However, I think that they’re doing a pretty snazzy job with surprising people. Personally, I’m still lowkey shocked about Prince Hans in Frozen; I knew there was something ‘too good’ about him, but I didn’t think he was going to be that bad.
Disney gets more and more sarcastic with every film. The sass is unreal and makes me cry every time.
Who can forget Flynn Rider‘s iconic sass throughout Tangled? ‘Yay’!
One of the main reasons I personally love Disney is because of the little ‘Easter eggs’ they have in each movie. I squeal like a little girl. It’s so clever how subtle some of them are, and then having others that are quite easy to catch on to. I love it; it’s one of the things I look forward to when watching a new Disney film.
I don’t mean to brag, but, Disney fans are pretty awesome anyway, aren’t they?
There are many other reasons as to why Disney is amazing, and I’m sure there are some that I haven’t thought of yet. Those reasons will have to appear in another blog post, though.
